Lamp Posts, Engineering Hall

Completed in 1894, the University of Illinois Engineering Hall is noteworthy for being the first of its kind — constructed solely for its use as an individual college.

Renovations began in 1998 to bring the building to its former glory with Dean Rose constructing the lamp posts outside the main entrance. By matching the orange brick of the building, the lamp posts continue to tie in the school colors of orange and navy blue, which were chosen based on the original colors of the Engineering Hall.
