Gazebo Gates
Located in a memorial garden commemorating the passing of UPD staff and their families, these iron wrought gates and window grilles provide the finishing touches for this classic brick gazebo.
Records indicate that the gazebo was constructed circa 1908 and designed by the Champaign architect H. R. Temple, as a memorial to the Native Americans, slaves, early settlers, and transients who were buried there.
Alternatively known as the Old Urbana, Pioneer or Soldier’s Cemetery.
